You will receive 10% off if you refer a friend by having them list your name on their camp registration form. Paid after payment and completion of camps for both parties.

Camp Guidelines and Information:
-
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday Through Friday. Drop off begins at 8:30 a.m.
-
An extended hours services camp from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. is also offered. Pick up is available between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at $15 an hour 1st child, additional siblings $5 per child.

Half day sessions run 9-noon and noon to 3 p.m.

Ages 5 to 15.

In addition to other daily sports activities and classes, twice a day we will hold a dual martial arts class and a RealFit4Sport (all sports agility) class. Campers can choose their classes. AKMA
members that attend a half day session will get credit for a full
martial arts class if taken. AKMA members that attend a full day
session will get credit for 2 martial arts classes if taken. We will
make sure each member covers their course curriculum at the camps to
ensure their requirements are being met.

Camp attire is t-shirt and long, comfortable pants. We also recommend a hand towel for workouts.

Campers must bring their own lunch, beverages and snacks.

Fridays
are all inclusive Party days. A Pizza Party and laser tag will be held
as a special weekly party event. Prizes and more will be given on this
day.

Tracie Arlington from Play It Safe
Self Defense will teach our campers about personal safety utilizing role play
in a safe and supportive environment.
Campers will also learn how to deal with bullies. Reading materials to take home to review and
share with parents.
Gavin McBride, San Diego Lifeguard will be here at the Thursday morning session to discuss water safety and what it takes to be a San Diego LifeGuard. A dynamic speaker, he will explain water currents, what to do in an emergency situation and the many jobs a LifeGuard has.
Additional fun activities:
Weave your way through our hurdles,
tunnels and obstacle course, answer safety questions correctly to proceed to
the next challenge. Prizes tickets are awarded for each correct answer.
Martial Arts - Learn how to fall
correctly, hold pads for others and much more.
Sports Play - what to do if you are
injured playing soccer, baseball or any sport. what to do if others are
injured.
General - What to do if there is an
earthquake, fire or other emergency.
Personal Safety - Role playing will
be used. Tips on how to protect yourself and how to create your emergency
network. Includes materials to take home.
Safety Artwork - All will be imaged
and displayed on Shutterfly.
Safety Jeopardy Game - On Thursday,
you will be asked safety questions learned throughout the week. Prize
tickets awarded to winners.
Create a Safety Movie. You
will be assigned to a team to create your own movie! Working as a team,
you will decide what safety topic to write, film and direct. Movie will
be posted to Shutterfly. Prize tickets awarded to each team who
accumulates points for effort.

10 a.m. On Monday Timothy Petsche,
Master Builder from Lego Land will be here to discuss what it is like to work
at Lego Land, How he got such a great job, How he put together the awesome Star
Wars Display at Lego Land and upcoming Lego Land activities and more. He
will also give out tips on how to maximize your Lego building experience.
Additional fun activities:
Lego Relay - Assigned to a team, you
will weave through an obstacle course to help your team build a lego structure
one piece at a time!.
Build a Lego Gym - Assigned to a
team, you will create your own Lego gym, showing Lego people and structures
performing their workout. Points are awarded for creativity to the
building team. The opposite team(s) will have to figure out and demonstrate
each exercise to earn points. Prize Tickets Awarded.
Build a Lego Obstacle Course -
Utilizing Legos, Hurdles, Floor Ladders, Parachutes, tunnels and more, you will
build an obstacle course. The most creative team will win Prize Tickets
Lego Car Race - Build a race track
for our remote control car. Get through the obstacles, buildings ramps
and more to win a prize.
Lego Competition - Build the most
unique structure. Photos will be posted on Shutterfly. Prize
tickets awarded for individual effort and creativity.

Morning - David D’Andrea – Owner of Ultimate Meeting & Event Productions
and former Junior Lightweight, Lightweight and Junior Welterweight Central
Florida boxing champion. David has a past boxing record of 67 – 7 – 1
through his 18 year career as a boxer out of Ocala, Florida.
Also a former high School teacher and football coach he is excited to be
hosting a boxing camp this summer at our Gym!

Sensei Gary Wilson from American
Family Kenpo Karate. Sensei Wilson
is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. His school is located in South San Diego and he has taught many students in the
fantastic art of Kenpo. You will learn self-defense speed drills and
techniques effective in the Kenpo Art.
Additional fun activities
-Learn the art of the sword -
practice advanced blocking and counter attacks in a controlled, safe
environment.
-Nunchuks (nunchaku) training will
also be given with foam sticks. A fast weapon, you will also learn where
it came from, it's country history and the proper control of this weapon.
-Escrima (Eskrima) training - Can
you guess what country this comes from? Often misunderstood as a weapon,
it is considered an extension of the body for blocking and attacking
techniques.
-Knife Defense Techniques. Did
you know that our own TTF Federation excels in knife defense training for our
black belts? Well now you get to learn some of those advanced techniques
- only at this camp!
-Master's Challenge - walk the beam
as you try to push your opponent off with your double pad stick. Only one
winner will be left standing. Prize tickets awarded.
-Master's Jeopardy on Thursday.

-Learn about the art of American
Kenpo, its origins, founders and what is practiced today.

- Monday, August 8th 1:30 p.m. - Steven Kramer Glickman, famous actor, singer and comedian will be here to share his experiences. Mr. Glickman is one of the main characters (Gustavo) in the Nickelodeon hit comedy series, "Big Time Rush". He will also share his experiences as an actor on TV as well as his stage work on Broadway and other venues.

-Writing, Costume and Set Design,
Directing, Acting and Filming each day. Children will be encouraged to
work as a team to produce their own movie. Prize tickets will be awarded based
on creativity, script content and teamwork. Extra points for those that
create movies with a sport theme. Ninja theme is extra bonus points!
-Build a costume scavenger hunt-
Teams will work together to find costume pieces and dress team member in a

-Movie Jeopardy - What was Nemo's
Best Friend's name? How many Karate Kid Movies were made? What
movie is Uncle Fester in? Answer these and many more questions for immediate
prize wins.
-Guess Who I am Puzzle - act out

obstacle course, gaining extra points along the way. If you guess wrong you

-Build a set design relay - using
the materials provided, each team member must build a set, design a hat and act
out a scene in a matter of minutes - are you up for the challenge?
