Safety Week Theme will cover safety at home, school & at the gym.  Learn safety while having a blast at the same time.  A MUST week for every child.

Agenda Includes:

Tracie Arlington from Play It Safe Self Defense will teach our campers about personal safety utilizing role play in a safe and supportive environment.  Campers will also learn how to deal with bullies.  Reading materials to take home to review and share with parents.

Gavin McBride, San Diego Lifeguard will be here at the Thursday morning session to discuss water safety and what it takes to be a San Diego LifeGuard.  A dynamic speaker, he will explain water currents, what to do in an emergency situation and the many jobs a LifeGuard has.

Additional fun activities:

Weave your way through our hurdles, tunnels and obstacle course, answer safety questions correctly to proceed to the next challenge.  Prizes tickets are awarded for each correct answer.

Martial Arts - Learn how to fall correctly, hold pads for others and much more.

Sports Play - what to do if you are injured playing soccer, baseball or any sport.  what to do if others are injured.

General - What to do if there is an earthquake, fire or other emergency.

Personal Safety - Role playing will be used.  Tips on how to protect yourself and how to create your emergency network.  Includes materials to take home.

Safety Artwork - All will be imaged and displayed on Shutterfly.

Safety Jeopardy Game - On Thursday, you will be asked safety questions learned throughout the week.  Prize tickets awarded to winners.

Create a Safety Movie.  You will be assigned to a team to create your own movie!  Working as a team, you will decide what safety topic to write, film and direct.  Movie will be posted to Shutterfly.  Prize tickets awarded to each team who accumulates points for effort.

Prize tickets can be accumulated for wheel spins.  Each child can decide when they spin the wheel and what days.

10 a.m. On Monday Timothy Petsche, Master Builder from Lego Land will be here to discuss what it is like to work at Lego Land, How he got such a great job, How he put together the awesome Star Wars Display at Lego Land and upcoming Lego Land activities and more.  He will also give out tips on how to maximize your Lego building experience. 

Additional fun activities:

Lego Relay - Assigned to a team, you will weave through an obstacle course to help your team build a lego structure one piece at a time!.

Build a Lego Gym - Assigned to a team, you will create your own Lego gym, showing Lego people and structures performing their workout.  Points are awarded for creativity to the building team. The opposite team(s) will have to figure out and demonstrate each exercise to earn points.  Prize Tickets Awarded.

Build a Lego Obstacle Course - Utilizing Legos, Hurdles, Floor Ladders, Parachutes, tunnels and more, you will build an obstacle course.  The most creative team will win Prize Tickets

Lego Car Race - Build a race track for our remote control car.  Get through the obstacles, buildings ramps and more to win a prize. 

Lego Competition - Build the most unique structure.  Photos will be posted on Shutterfly.  Prize tickets awarded for individual effort and creativity.

 If you have not done one of our tournaments yet, now is the time to experience it in a safe and supportive environment.  Learn what to expect at a tournament and what the judges look for in competitors.  We will train every day to prep for the AKMA in-house tournament to be held on Saturday, July 23rd from 12 to 4 p.m.  Price for campers  that attend the full week includes tournament event entrance fees, certificates and awards. 

 - Sparring Techniques and Drills to improve speed and agility.  -Mock Sparring tournament for practice for the real thing on Saturday Afternoon.

-Forms - technical evaluation for personal best.  Individual attention to each competitor to maximize performance.

Wednesday Morning - David D’Andrea – Owner of Ultimate Meeting & Event Productions and former Junior Lightweight, Lightweight and Junior Welterweight Central Florida boxing champion.  David has a past boxing record of 67 – 7 – 1 through his 18 year career as a boxer out of Ocala, Florida.  Also a former high School teacher and football coach he is excited to be hosting a boxing camp this summer at our Gym!  Learn how to box from the BEST! 

Additional fun activities

-Balance techniques - learn how to increase balance stability with jelly pads and gymnastic equipment to perch on tree tops for your search of the elusive JoJoBa.

-Learn how to fight off your ninja opponents with spinning flying kicks and more. 

-Become invisible to your arch nemesis - drop, roll and avoid contact with them at all costs - they could take the JoJoBa away from you!

-Learn how to strategically assess your opponents territory, maneuvering around obstacles as you try and reach your goal.  Find the right key to open the JoJoBa's secret door, asking for villager help along the way.  But wait!  Don't be careful around the villagers - you never know who wants to help your opponent succeed!  See if you can answer the Gatekeepers questions correctly to pass through to the city to end your quest. 

-Ninja Quest Challenge – walk and jump to jellypads to avoid certain death.  Perform your best Form without falling off to receive prize tickets.

-Stick Walk - Maneuver around Stick Jungle to Collect the Diamonds hanging from the trees.  Be careful of moving sticks - if they touch you- YOU ARE OUT! Collect all 5 Diamonds and win a prize.

BLACK BELT MASTERS WEEK

A great opportunity for you to train with black belts in Tang Soo Do as well as other martial arts.  It will be an exciting week of self defense, forms and weaponry.

 Sensei Gary Wilson from American Family Kenpo Karate.  Sensei Wilson is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate.  His school is located in South San Diego and he has taught many students in the fantastic art of Kenpo.  You will learn self-defense speed drills and techniques effective in the Kenpo Art. 

 Additional fun activities

 -Learn the art of the sword - practice advanced blocking and counter attacks in a controlled, safe environment.

-Nunchuks (nunchaku) training will also be given with foam sticks.  A fast weapon, you will also learn where it came from, it's country history and the proper control of this weapon.

-Escrima (Eskrima) training - Can you guess what country this comes from?  Often misunderstood as a weapon, it is considered an extension of the body for blocking and attacking techniques.

-Knife Defense Techniques.  Did you know that our own TTF Federation excels in knife defense training for our black belts?  Well now you get to learn some of those advanced techniques - only at this camp!

-Master's Challenge - walk the beam as you try to push your opponent off with your double pad stick.  Only one winner will be left standing.  Prize tickets awarded.

-Master's Jeopardy on Thursday.  Beat your opponents to see how much you remembered from the week.  Prize tickets awarded.

-Learn about the art of American Kenpo, its origins, founders and what is practiced today.

- Learn the History of Tang Soo Do , Along with Black Belt preparedness questions. Rare reading materials will be given to take home.

-Learn an advanced Black Belt Form - a series of intricate and advanced movements that you can practice.  An inside look at what it takes to do an advanced form only at this camp!

-Create your own Black Belt form - utilizing your favorite techniques, winners form will be practiced by coaches and campers alike. Winning form will be posted on Shutterfly. Prize tickets awarded.

You ought to be in pictures!  We have a fun week planned for those budding Stars of yours.  Media is the theme - flash photography, film and more.

• Monday, August 8th 1:30 p.m. - Steven Kramer Glickman, famous actor, singer and comedian will be here to share his experiences.  Mr. Glickman is one of the main characters (Gustavo) in the Nickelodeon hit comedy series, "Big Time Rush".  He will also share his experiences as an actor on TV as well as his stage work on Broadway and other venues. 
  
•  Friday is All-Inclusive Pizza Party and Laser Tag Day

-Writing, Costume and Set Design, Directing, Acting and Filming each day.  Children will be encouraged to work as a team to produce their own movie. Prize tickets will be awarded based on creativity, script content and teamwork.  Extra points for those that create movies with a sport theme.  Ninja theme is extra bonus points!

 -Build a costume scavenger hunt- Teams will work together to find costume pieces and dress team member in a limited amount of time.  Prize Tickets Awarded

  -Movie Jeopardy - What was Nemo's Best Friend's name?  How many Karate Kid Movies were made?  What movie is Uncle Fester in? Answer these and many more questions for immediate prize wins.

  -Guess Who I am Puzzle - act out your partner's secret identity for points.  You can proceed through the obstacle course, gaining extra points along the way. If you guess wrong you must go one step back.  Prize tickets awarded.

  -Build a set design relay - using the materials provided, each team member must build a set, design a hat and act out a scene in a matter of minutes - are you up for the challenge?
